Dear Family Child Care Provider:
Let me begin by thanking you for taking on the very important task of providing child care in our state. You have opened your home to the children of other families so their parents or guardians can go to work and school. Not everyone is cut out to perform this critical social responsibility.
So again, we thank you.
The job of the State Fire Marshal's Office is to help you provide the safest home possible while you care for these children. We want to do this with as little interference in your day-to day schedule as necessary.
The guidelines located in the
pre-inspection checklist
are designed to prepare you for the inspection and keep the inspection as short as possible. You will notice different sections covering different topics. You should take the time to review the contents of each section and fix any problems that you identify before you contact this office to make your appointment for the inspection.
If you complete your checklist before calling us, your inspection should be quick and easy. When the inspection from our office is completed successfully and satisfies the IFC, a copy will be forwarded to DHR for their review.
