Scott F. Pilgreen, born and raised in Alabama, has over 40 years in law enforcement. His career began in 1979 at the Montgomery Police Department (MPD) serving in the patrol, investigative, and training divisions. Pilgreen left MPD to join the State of Alabama Fire Marshal's Office in 1989 serving as a Deputy State Fire Marshal.
After graduating from the FBI National Academy in September 2002, Pilgreen was promoted to Assistant State Fire Marshal. During that time, he became a graduate of the Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program while earning a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern Univerisity. Pilgreen was promoted to State Fire Marshal in August 2016 and currently serves on a number of boards/commisions including the Personnel Standards and Training Commission at the Alabama Fire College, Alabama Joint Fire Council, Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gas Board, and the Alabama Energy and Residential Code Board at the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
